Found a completely new menu layout after the update and think the previous version was miles better. Can we get a choice, please?

Currently, we are at version 25.9.5. I have no idea how many years old your last version was, so I don't know what you are talking about yet. 😊 I think the layout settings came 7 years ago, that's maybe 800 or 900 releases ago. 😅

Interesting comments. I had the layout shown in most screenshots earlier with icons and arrows for back and forward and so on, but after the latest upgrade I have no icons at all. Only text buttons and nothing like back and forward. Screenshot attached. But nobody would be happier than me if this is just a config issue!

They walked around in my note history. I can so the same wilt Alt- and Alt-, but I got used to the arrows on thetop

It doesn't even show any icons for you in the menu bar or the search bar. What build are you using?

Can you please post the output from the debug settings that you can copy when you get to the settings dialog in QOwnNotes and head over to the Debug section of it?

And also, you can configure the menu bar in the settings.

It seems they are 20 releases behind... Maybe try the Flatpak. I don't know if the Fedora releases are working under Alma Linux.

And all the icons are missing for you... Maybe try enabling internalIconTheme in the settings.

Got back to the site where I had this problem and can report that enabling internalIconTheme made the screen look a lot better
