hey @jackjackbits I think just using mesh will not help in true offline chat service ,What i think we should traget unlicensed radio frequenices and on top that we should also try mesh ,so that chance of communication increases relatively. |

Sup Jack, just one thing I noticed: the interface is only in English right now. I think it’d be awesome if you could add support for Russian and Ukrainian languages — there’s definitely a bunch of folks from Eastern Europe who’d love to use this app, especially in places where internet access isn’t great or just for local peer-to-peer stuff. Even just translating the main UI labels like:
…would already make a big difference. If you’re open to it, I’d be happy to help with translations or provide a list of localized strings. Let me know! Thanks again — the project is 🔥 |

I thought of this idea yesterday when using Bitchat with friends, not coder enough to build it on my own but will try to vibe code it. Only one phone in the mesh network should have connection to internet (and given option to connect to tor mesh) and it can communicate with another mesh using tor network (something that session app does) so now we can have decentralized network clusters that can communicate with other network clusters using secure and anonymous tor |

I finally found the real Satoshi, who was building the BitChat project 15 years after his first Bitcoin project. Congratulations on your success in carrying out this noble task for all. |

Why use nostr relays, no one is working seriously on them... strfry is around 10months dead, most active relay has 3 devs... would prefer an bluetooth only version. |

Apart from the fact that BLE is quite range limited, I feel like that's even more reason to support Nostr. We can't let it die out. They just merged NIP-EE in the official NIP repo which significantly improves private messages and group chats. I actually think Nostr is quite powerful and I hope it's ecosystem continues to grow. Imagine a world in which there are hundreds of messenger apps (some might even make their own) but they are all compatible and decentralized! I also hope developers make more apps where Nostr is more hidden so that the general public could use it too (even if they are not aware of it). The way I see it Nostr will either slowly fade away or it will revolutionize online communication (at least somewhat). Which path it takes is up to us. @jackjackbits thanks for supporting Nostr so much. I wouldn't have heard about it without your help. But I think we need to do more. So keep building on Nostr everyone! |
