Last commit is on August 2024, and it lacks of support of Python 3.13. Is project dead?

I think so. This is a shame. For Python, finally, the only reliable ORM is SQLAlchemy.

Hello! Sad to hear that but...
I don't think we can either its dead or not.
Surely both me and Alexander not giving up on Pony but all main features we have to do (async support, migrations) are too comprehesive and time consuming. And it is for everyone, not only Pony developers but for open source contributors also.

We still have hope that one day we will make progress, but for now our primary job takes 100%+ of our energy.

Well, I guess it's not dead, but not alive either. It's somewhere in between. One ORM still being updated aside SQLAlchemy is PeeWee-ORM (no worries, I'm not a maintainer, just a user as for everything else)

PonyORM is the best ORM in Python for syntax, ease of use, and pythonic nature. I hope someone or some company finds a way to support @sashaaero and @kozlovsky and @amalashkevich to continue to maintain and develop PonyORM.
