New button not displayed correctly

Related to #10094
New button is not being displayed as "--" in the documentation:

The code preview is correct. Could not find out what should be the appropriate syntax to display the 2 characters of the button on the website.

Good catch @Laufmaschine .
I've tried many combinations (menuselection, with space, with backslash) but failed to find one that keeps the two - in the html rendering. Solutions that I see are:

• take and use a screenshot of the button
• use ``--``
• use :kbd:`--`: this is a misuse of that role, but... I went that way in Adjust formatting and text for comments in expression #10246 and took the opportunity to fix some misalignment issue and the wording about commenting characters. Your feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

@DelazJ Thank you for testing and for the suggestions. I would prefer to go by the book, that is, follow your 1st option, but I need to test if I can successfully create and add the screenshot of the button. Agree with all your changes in #10246 ! :) Feel free to merge them and then after maybe I can try to add the image?
