Realm Rust (Tauri)

Hey realm community,

I am not sure this is the appropriate place for this and if it isn't I apologize. I want to use realm in a Tauri App and would like to discuss my options.

1. Is it possible to use something that is already built to interface with the Realm via the rust backend within a Tauri app?
2. Would this require building out a realm-rust package that utilizes realm-core?
3. What kind of effort is involved in building a project like this(I am somewhat new to realm)?
4. Is there any interest among the community for this type of project?

Sorry for the late response.
To answer your questions.

Question 1 and 2
Realm does not provide a stable API, at least we don't keep a stable API in place, so function signatures can change, and your code will have to adapt to these changes. There might be a stable API in the future, but right now it does not exist.
However, Realm core does provide a C-API interface in order to be used interoperably with other language bindings (e.g Dart, Kotlin, .Net, etc). You can check those projects and see how they use realm core. You can easily call C from Rust, so I guess you should not encounter issues with that.

Question 3
You will need to compile Realm core. You can find all the info needed here: https://github.com/realm/realm-core/blob/master/how-to-build.md.
You can do it on any platform (Mac, Linux or Windows). There are some dependencies you have to have in order to build it successfully. You need OpenSSL, Curl, etc. In general, all your platform specific packages listed here:

Question 4
Accessing to Realm via an SDK is the recommended way to go, but since there is no Rust SDK support, you can always start one :-)
