Travis CI fails with job exceeded max time limit

By submitting PR #508 I noticed that Travis CI fails for all pull requests so there might be an issue there with the gem dependencies as it times out during the bundle install stage.

Seems related to #495 as reported by @lanzhiheng.

@bricesanchez is it possible no one noticed that all Travis CI for PRs are failing since around 6 months?
