"Tagged" birth death pairs?

I have a cloud of labelled points. Would it be possible / easy to add functionality that keeps track of the labels each birth death pair has associate with it? A simple example being that I have 3 points, red, green, and blue, and each birth-death pair is tagged with what colours it has picked up?
