MacOS Endless verification captcha loop #7510

- I have searched searched open and closed issues for duplicates.
- I am using Signal-Desktop as provided by the Signal team, not a 3rd-party package.
Overall summary
I needed to add multiple numbers to a chat for work, and ended up stuck in an endless loop of captcha requests. I completed all the captchas, and when returning to Signal, about half said "verification complete" and the other half said "verification failed." But either way, I get the verification demand come up again a few seconds later.
Uninstalling and reinstalling Signal on my macbook did not help. This is weirdly enough not an issue on my phone.

Expected result
The correct behavior should be the captcha verifying my account successfully once, without an endless stream of verification requests coming up immediately after.
Actual result
An endless stream of requests to go to my browser and complete a captcha challenge to verify my account.
