What is the best practices to monitor nginx activity in docker container?

I've heard about ngxtop, but could't make it working. There are unsolved questions at stackoverflow like this.

May be you know how do it correct and efficient?

This ngxtop is cool. I obviously never heard of it. But one of the options would be to run it in a container itself docker image and then mount a log file from the container you want to monitor (e.g. nginx) by means of sharing a volume between those two.
