Unable to get the linux window command prompt in vs code

I installed the VS code and node.js successfully and im able to see node.js version in vs code
WSL is automatically installed in VS code and also have installed the remote development extension
Have selected the "Connect to WSL in new window" option and it asked me to add the distro. Have added the latest LTS of the ubuntu.
But now im not sure how to open the linux/bash terminal. Can some one please help me with this?

Do you see 'WSL: Ubuntu' on the bottom left of your VS Code window after you connect to WSL in the new Window?

Something like this:

If not, then there some problem connecting to WSL.

But if you can see the 'WSL: Ubuntu', then to open terminal:

1. From the menu bar, click on Terminal, or you may have to click on the three dots at the end of the menu bars options to see the Terminal option.
2. Click on New Terminal.
   Optionally, you can skip steps 1 and 2, and instead press Ctrl + Shift + ` to open a new terminal.
3. If you don't already get the bash you can switch to bash as follows:
   a)Click on the drop down along side the new terminal icon.
   
   b) Select the terminal you want, in your case it's bash.

Thanks for your reply. I have WSL installed in the VS code. When i tried installing ubuntu , i received the below error -

WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80004005

What to do in this case
