Support groups

One of the most useful things in SWO is log groups, but there's no support for managing that in this terraform provider. Are there any plans to add that?

@iainbeeston There are some complications to adding support for groups right now. We're working on a plan to remediate those and get groups support in Terraform. It's a commonly-requested feature. We'll keep this issue open and update as things progress.

Just curious, but do you have some particular workflows around groups you're looking to automate with TF? Or do you just want to automate the creation/management of groups?

@grepory I just want to automate the creation/management of groups. I have logs from many similar applications going to solar winds and each application will have many servers, for example I might have an sql database, redis database and api server in an application. At the moment I have to manually group together the logs from those into a group for that application. I configure those servers and applications using terraform so it would be helpful to set up the log groups there too.

@iainbeeston Thanks! I'll make sure our product managers are aware that we have users wanting to manage groups in the terraform provider. We currently lack a public API for managing groups, unfortunately. So this gets a bit complicated.
