How to get the current user data in an addon?

How can I get the data of the current/authenticated Statamic user in an addon? Why is it null in both provider and Antlers views?

 {
        dd(User::current()); // is null

bootAddon miiiight be too soon to get the user? Why do you need it there?

My addon is for the frontend. I'm not sure, but I assume that the bootAddon() method is not the right place to get the current user. I solved this in a controller of the addon. I mention that the Statamic's User::current() did not work here. Any suggestions?

ok, so that doc talk about using statamic guard for the CP and web for the front end? But you're checking the statamic guard in your front end controller?

Can we see this part of your config?

Sure, I have that part in my config. I separated Statamic users from those of my Laravel application exactly as described in Statamic's documentation. Although my addon is for the frontend, my goal is to make sure that it only works for the super user, logged in into CP.

        'web' => 'web',
    ],

And, since I'm using Request in my controller anyway, it seems I've found a better solution (I think), without the need for Auth facade (see https://stackoverflow.com/a/42456925/1354580).

$user = $request->user('statamic');

if ($user && $user->isSuper()) {
    // bussiness logic here
}

Can it be done even better?
