Please document how to add a new version to device_configuration.py

I am getting the message "Please update to the latest Kik version from App/Play Store" when I run this bot.

on pureapk i see that there is a new version 17.5.1.32385

I would like to add the new version to device_configuration.py but i dont see any instructions on how this is sourced.

You can just have to add the kik version (17.5.1.32385) and the result of calculating SHA1 hash on the classes.dex file inside the Kik app APK file:

I have done this with the latest version, calculated the sha1 hash on the classes.dex file & to base64, i get Service Unavailable stanza issue.

I did the same as @ydeagan and am getting the same message. Could anyone please confirm for me that the login is working? Thanks.

You can't login with XMPP anymore, and the new method has multiple challenge-response methods in place that make it infeasible to create an out of the box solution that "just works" like before. FunCaptcha has been replaced with reCAPTCHA Mobile for example.

It leaves the project in a tough spot, because while adding support for the new system isn't difficult, the challenge response mechanisms in place make it so a very small portion of advanced users could actually use the client, as you would be responsible for writing your own custom code to solve the challenges. The days of simply pasting a captcha link into a web browser are over.

Can you provide a sample proof of concept? Or point towards where this custom challenge handling code would hook into?
