After much experimentation I was able to get the latest MagicTrackpad with USB-C port to work on Windows 11 (24H2).

  1. Follow directions in the README exactly and confirm that the MT is working when connected by USB-C. Make sure the Control Panel utility works as well.

  2. Extract and use the apple precision Trackpad Bluetooth drivers from the 2022 Bootcamp Update file (AppleBcUpdate.exe) using instructions you can find on the web. If you view the inf file, it must show:

DriverVer = 04/07/2022,6.1.8000.6

  1. Install the Apple bluetooth driver via the INF. Only install the BT driver!

  2. Disconnect MT from cable (make sure you have a mouse handy), and connect it using windows->Settings->Bluetooth & devices -> Add Device.

  3. It will show up as installed and have limited functionality. Left mouse button and mouse movement only.

  4. Using a regular mouse, open device setting and under Human Interface Devices, at the top of the list you should see something like Microsoft Bluetooth HID device (I don't remember exactly, but it's obvious as it should be the only device with Bluetooth in its name).

  5. Right mouse button on it and select update device->Browse my computer for drivers->Let me pick from a loist of available...->UNSELECT Show compatible hardware->Scroll up to Apple-> Select Apple Bluetooth Precision Trackpad, and install that driver.

  6. Apple Bluetooth Prcision Trackpad should now appear in device manager.

  7. Restart system. The trackpad works fine, the windows settings for trackpad works fine. The control panel applet will only work with USB-c connected.

  8. So far, no performance issues.

Nice work! However I think your procedure does not require the installation of my driver to work (your step 1).

Sorry, I can't find the apple precision Trackpad Bluetooth drivers from the 2022 Bootcamp Update file (AppleBcUpdate.exe). Could you please help me for the file dowloading?

Thank you so much. My USB-C Trackpad works well with Bluetooth. This really helps me a lot. Thank you.

I can confirm this is working as well. I already had @vitoplantamura implementation in place, so I can't confirm if those steps should be skipped, but my USB-C model is working as well on DriverVer = 04/07/2022,6.1.8000.6. It'll be nice being able to use the device as intended.

I am not sure that the @vitoplantamura drivers need to be installed either, however, with them installed and USB cable connection working, I was then able to install the bluetooth driver from apple. Most of the other instructions I found on the web said to install bluetooth first. I could not get bluetooth to work until I installed and was able to use the USB driver and cable.

unzip AppleBcUpdate.exe
I get DriverVer=04/07/2022,6.1.8000.6, apple bluetooth precision trackpad drivers
And update Bluetooth HID device from old default Microsoft driver to new Apple driver.

Followed the tutorial , could not find HID device , only device i thought it could be was apple precision trackpad , everything was working great but when using the step where i choose the driver to 'update device' i chose the apple driver , installation took forever so i forced restart my computer now nothing works , did i f.ed the trackpad ? feel so bad now ...

EDIT: after multiple restarts and driver uninstall tries apple device does not show up anymore and trackpad is working again wired but i cannot find any HID in device manager matching your description ?
