    • brief re-cap of FT2022-2 proposal for amendments sent out to NFPs
    • next amendments for FT2023-1 need to be complete by mid-December
    • discussion on minimizing the work on code amendments in favor of focusing on developing a new version of the WIGOS metadata
  • Brief re-cap of contribution to SC-ON team chairs meeting on 8 July 2022 (5', jkl)
  • Contribution of TT-WIGOS to upcoming meetings and conferences (5', jkl)
    • TECO 2022 accepted as #140
    • AGU Fall meeting submitted
    • to all, let Anna know if you have conferences or outreach associated with TT-WIGOSMD
  • CEOS Common Terminology Initiative (Emma Woolliams, 20')
    • Presentation
    • (Lara) What is the purpose or use? Will it be integrated into a service or will it be just a look up for understanding? (Emma) intention is for humans, not computers.
    • (Lara) how did you determine the terms that you wanted to define and what is the audience? And what is the governance? (Emma) It comes from CEOS and we took that vocabs of the communities that are coming together and the combined list was overwhelming. Decided to focus on terms that everyone uses and are base terms, i.e. interoperability and observation.
    • (John) CGMS (?) is the primary group that CEOS and WMO work together. OSCAR/Space is maintained by WMO, but relies on input from the space agencies. Highly recommends looking at this site and John is starting to align OSCAR/Space with the WIGOS metadata standard.
    • (Gao) There are a lot of legacy publications using terms for a long time and very loosely. (Emma) There are different approaches to managing vocabularies. Dication on how it should be used or explanations on how they are used.
    • (Jitze) As member of the editing board of the Manual on WIGOS and it's important that the definitions are uniform. "Observations" are defined in the Manual on WIGOS and there are level 0 and level 1 observations, but there are differences between ISO and WMO definitions. By default WMO publications should reference resources within WMO, not externally. There is also an International Meteorology Vocabulary publication contains definitions and translations, it probably has a definition for an observation. (Joerg) Don't think that there are coordinators to help govern the terminology projects across high-level standard organizations.
  • (Markus) People use terms that are useful. Agree with the approach of ... How does this effort relate to GCMD keywords and vocabularies, such as GEOMS, ACTRIS...
    • Discussion: Is this in scope for our team and integration into codes.wmo.int? Timeline? Volunteers?
  • Review open issues and assignees (30')
