We have a case of a disabled user who suggested this solution to make it easier to remember to add featured images to posts. This would require fewer steps than the default way of adding featured images, thus, lit would be less physically demanding.

From reviewing the customer feedback, I see two distinct opportunities:

1. Mitigate confusion over a post requiring a featured image for sharing to an Instagram Business social account.
2. Shortening the flow for setting a featured image could benefit users, particularly those relying upon assistive technologies.

We might address these together (enable setting a featured image within the pre-publishing sheet) or separately (communicate the requirement in the pre-publishing sheet and simplify existing editor flows for setting featured images). Jetpack Social and Gutenberg on the web take the latter approach.

Given the gutenberg-mobile project is not under active development (focus is on the experimental GutenbergKit project) and the pre-publishing UI is managed within the WordPress-iOS and WordPress-Android repositories, I'm transferring this issue to WordPress-iOS for further consideration.

An aside: I'll note wordpress-mobile/GutenbergKit#57 tracks enabling the ability to set an image as featured in the experimental editor.

Thanks! It would definitely be nice to have, as well as provide a discoverable way to change any other post/page settings before publishing. The decision what to prioritize in the sheet needs to be data-driven. Featured image does seem like a good candidate to add.
