The AMIs we use do no have cuda 12.6 installed: https://github.com/awslabs/amazon-eks-ami/releases/tag/v20240904

Hence, we won't be able to use a newer cuda toolkit version. For now, we will settle on using 12.2 in staging, until we either:

  • Get AMIs with 12.6
  • Install the drivers ourselves and create a new AMI
