Controller OTA Upgrade Option Missing On New Version

Describe the bug

Previous versions allowed to upgrade firmware on a controller via node selection within the Control Panel listing.

To Reproduce

Navigate via Control Panel -> Devices -> Select Node which is the connected ZWAVE usb controller (Aeotec Z-Stick 7 Plus) w/ FW: v7.21.6. Clicking on 'Advanced' the OTA upgrade option is not there:

Expected behavior

There is a 'Firmware update OTW' option under General Actions. Would this be where it was 'moved'? If so, it is not clear if this will upgrade the firmware on the controller specifically. FWIW, the text for firmware update on a node is not consistent - 'Firmware update'. If there is work to update any firmware update dialogues, would it make sense to have the device info in that dialogue so it is clear what you are doing? For example, the device name, manufacturer, current version, serial, function (node, controller, etc), whatever makes sense.

This may be resolved in the newest release:
zwave-js-ui: 10.9.0.26f2e69
zwave-js: 15.9.0
However, there are still some inconsistencies...

Primary Controller (not connected to server running docker instance of ZWAVE): Shows up as a normal node, with options for 'OTA Updates' from the device menu AND 'Firmware update' under Advanced

Secondary Controller (connected to server running docker instance of ZWAVE AND configured as the controller within the ZWAVE instance): Shows up with 'Firmware Updates' option, rather than 'OTA Updates' from device menu BUT no options under Advanced

Summary: Primary Controller shows up as a regular node. Secondary controller I think shows up correctly? Is it correct that a controller will ONLY have 'Firmware Updates' option from the device menu and NO such options from under 'Advanced'?

we don't have support for secondary controller ATM, for zui it looks like another node, we are not aware it is a controller (for now). that's why you see different menus

Understood completely. (As I have been keeping tabs on the other issues/work ongoing.) The question though is -- any reason why there are 2 ways to access OTA updates for nodes (via the left hand menu and Advanced) while 1 way to access firmware updates for controllers (via the left hand menu, but not the Advanced). The different names makes sense.. as OTA is via RF while firmware is via the USB bus.

Uhh, we have allowed to do that forever. For now (until there are actually updates available on the OTA service) it's the only way to upgrade a controller firmware.

If the menu item is missing, that's a problem.

Correct. I’ve updated my Aeotec stick at least once using this method. No issues. The advanced menu on the controller is just a bit light (in terms of options), doesn’t have the firmware update option. Just to be clear, this is when accessing it under the list of device nodes. (On that note, anyway to distinguish more easily a controller from a node within this list? Color coding, a flag, etc?)

Oh, I just realized you're looking in the wrong spot. The OTW upgrade feature hasn't been on the controller node in quite a while now:

Good point. Hmm, menu changes depending on if you checkbox a node or not. If nothing is check boxed, you get the directly connected controller options. But if you pick the controller from the list of nodes, and go to the advanced menu the option is not there. Only see a few issues here: - A bit not intuitive, as the menu changes depending on whether a node is selected. If nothing is selected, it defaults to a controller specific menu. - If we want to support multi-controllers in the future, it would be useful to pick the specific controller as a node select, and have options specific to that controller (whether its secondary or primary). Regardless, should be possible to upgrade any controller connected as a node.

Regardless, should be possible to upgrade any controller connected as a node.

OTW is for the one that Z-Wave JS is actively controlling via USB/cable/...
OTA is for all other devices.

Let's say that considering there is only one controller (for now) putting that in the general advanced action make sense to me also because that method doesn't require a node item to be specified (it's always the main controller)
